On-going energy savings and long-term carbon reductions can be realised by the installation of low or zero carbon technologies. It is, however, extremely important that these technologies are investigated fully in order to establish the site specific feasibility, both technically and economically. Poorly selected and ‘bolted on’ LZC technologies can result in poorly performing buildings where expected savings are not realised.
Building physics is an essential part in producing energy efficient design: it explains how the services systems interact with each other and also how the building is interacting with the changing external environmental conditions.
Through our partnership with our software providers IES, we have developed our modelling capabilities using the most advanced HVAC analysis software available. It is this award-winning partnership that gives us the ability to model real building HVAC systems with their associated control loops, thus giving us un-rivalled accuracy in this field.
We have full in-house ability to provide REVIT design information. Its successful utilisation assists in reduction of costs and encourages collaborative working between design team, developer and end user clients.
The concept of maintaining all information in one model increases the efficiencies for transfer of information, allowing the overall design and installation process to be quicker, more accurate and consistent. Lateral are fully certified in the use of this process and have successfully concluded designs for major projects.
