Client: Chantier D'Atlantique

Sectors: Marine

Services: Commissioning Management

The largest transatlantic cruise liner in the world.

Approximate construction value: $880 million

Commissioning management responsibilities were successfully carried out on the Queen Mary 2 ocean liner by a team of Lateral Technologies & Solutions Ltd's commissioning managers led by commissioning director, Iain Gibb. The project was delivered by Chantiers de L'atlantique based in St. Nazaire, France.

The facilities within the Queen Mary 2 varied from high quality top brand retail stores, through to restaurants, nightclubs and accommodation facilities. Each area of the ship had its own individual commissioning requirements but shared a common strategy for life support systems. The commissioning was completed successfully on time and within budget and met all the critical and stringent requirements demanded by the US Coastguard and UK Insurance Authorities. The approximate value of the project was US $880 million.
